It's a long shot, but police in Oregon think the brutal rape, abduction, and murder of a woman in Portland could have a connection to the case of a missing BYU student. Brooke Wilberger was taken from an apartment parking lot in May. Officers say, like Wilberger, the latest victim was in her late teens, white, and had blonde hair. Authorities say the woman was forced into a man's truck in a motel parking lot near Portland. Her mangled body was discovered in a wooded area, not far from where she was taken. tv.ksl.com/index.php?nid=5&sid=106396

[glow=red,2,300]Woman's body found in Fanno Creek Park [/glow] I don't know if this could be in any way related to Brooke but I'm placing it here just in case.
A maintenance crew found the body of a woman lying face down in Fanno Creek Park on Tuesday morning.
The body was found about 10:30 a.m. in a heavily wooded area of the park about 20 feet from a walking trail, said Jim Wolf, a spokesman for the Tigard police department. Fanno Creek Park is near the intersection of SW Hall Boulevard and SW Bonita Road in Tigard.
Police do not know the identity, age, race, cause of death or how long the body has been there, Wolf said. Investigators have not ruled out homicide or suicide as a cause of death, he said.
Investigators cordoned off the area, and a Washington County medical examiner is on scene.

[glow=red,2,300]Body of missing woman found below overpass [/glow] Berry pickers discovered the body of a missing woman beneath an overpass on Sunday, 10 streets from where she vanished, the authorities said. Deputy State Medical Examiner Duane Bigoni identified the body as that of Ilaben Patel.
An autopsy will be performed Monday.
Patel, 45, disappeared from her family's northeast Portland motel on Friday. Relatives said she had been working at the motel's front desk, when she went to a vacant room to pick up some cleaning supplies.
When the woman's husband went to the room he found the cleaning supplies, but no sign of his wife. Police said there was no sign of a struggle, and Patel left behind her purse, car keys and heart medication.
Officer Greg Pashley, a police spokesman, said the area where the body was found is clogged with underbrush.
"There's literally no way to tell how she got there," he said. "Obviously, it's suspicious circumstances and it's going to take a while to figure this all out."

[glow=red,2,300]POLICE RULE OUT MURDER[/glow] Portland detectives said Friday they have ruled out murder in the mysterious death of Ilaben Patel, whose body was found last month in a thicket of blackberries beneath an Interstate 205 overpass. Police said they could find no evidence of foul play in the 45-year-old Northeast Portland motel operator's death and think she fell or leaped from the Halsey Street overpass.
