Greg Wilberger thinks that his daughter was snatched by more than one person. He said his daughter, who had sprinted and long-jumped on the Elmira High School track team, was too fit to be taken easily.
She wouldn't have just gone away, he said. If she wasn't immobilized, she would have fought or run, because that's the training they have her at BYU.
Also, he said, She was real leery of people.
Godwin concurred that an abduction by two strangers was one of the more likely scenarios police must consider.
In his opinion, Wilberger was most likely abducted by a stranger or strangers familiar with the apartment complex, who might have been "trolling" for a victim. Whoever grabbed her also might know someone in the apartments, Godwin said. The isolated crime scene made it far less likely that Wilberger was the victim of a random abduction.
